Myrlande Desulme, affectionately known as Mimi, is the Founder and Lead Blogger at iWaited Blog. A purity and lifestyle blog catered to leading people not only in purity but into a greater understanding of who God has created them to be. Mimi blogs, vlogs, interviews and speaks. She is also a small business owner of Divine Cleaning and Organization Services, Inc. Site: http://bit.ly/2DYfNbB She is a licensed minister. Mimi is living her best life while walking out her complete purpose. I had the honor of meeting her earlier this year at a Purity Ball preparation workshop and would like to share this “Fanm pou Bondye’s” story.
JL: Where were you born?
MD: Miami, FL
JL: What part of Haiti are your parents from?
MD: My mom is Carrefour and my dad is from LaGonave.
JL: Have you ever visited Haiti before?
JL: Describe your business in one statement
MD: I run both a Purity blog and a cleaning business.
JL: When did you find Jesus and how did it change your life?
MD: I found Jesus for real my last year of college. Finding Him completely changed everything about my life. How I thought, how I lived, what I did etc.
JL: What is your favorite bible verse(s)?
MD: Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
JL: What’s your “why” and how did that help you start (business name)?
MD: I want men and women to know their value. Not just the value of their body but their value as a human being in this earth. When you understand your value then walking in purpose and the authenticity of who you are becomes easier.
JL: How do you balance everything?
MD: I’m still learning how to balance everything. I’m learning how to not allow myself to get overwhelmed and give up.
JL: Can you share an A-ha moment?
MD: Learning that trusting God is a moment-by-moment thing. When God gives us instructions, He still expects us to check in regularly to get instructions every step of the way.
JL: What has been a discouraging moment during your journey as a business owner and how did you overcome it?
MD: Being afraid to put myself out there. I hate feeling like a car salesman but if I don’t sell myself, who will?
JL: Do you have any last encouraging words for women who are sitting on their purpose?
MD: Get up and do it afraid. I’m afraid every day that I’m going to fail, that no one will want what I have to offer or that others will judge me. But each day, I take even the tiniest step towards being in my purpose.
